At Live Oak, we believe that education isn't just a profession; it's a legacy. Our story begins over a century ago, with a lineage of educators and innovators that runs deep in our veins. It all started with our great-great-grandmother, a dedicated teacher in Mexico whose passion for education became a family hallmark. Her daughter followed in her footsteps, becoming a respected educator in Pharr, Texas. This tradition of teaching excellence continued with our grandfather, a special education pioneer, and our father, an Agriculture Education Teacher & Coordinator.
Our mother's side of the family, who settled in our little town of Pharr in 1909, brings a different yet complementary legacy. Our grandparents, both beloved instructors, instilled in us the values of community and education. Their daughter, our mother, combined this heritage with a keen business sense, expertly managing business services for the PSJA school district.
At Live Oak, we embody this rich educational heritage. Our team is a fun-loving, enthusiastic group, passionate about learning and often a little loud in our excitement! We are steeped in educational principles, yet we bring a unique and innovative approach to our work. She has lead and supported several leadership programs such as FFA and 4-H.

Rebecca is pursuing a Master's degree in Instructional Design at Texas Tech University where she is learning how to design, develop, and evaluate innovative and impactful learning solutions that meet the needs and preferences of diverse learners and contexts. She is passionate about applying her skills and knowledge in instructional design to create engaging and meaningful instructional materials that inspire a love of learning.
